Section 6

Codes of Practice

(1)

The Authority may issue and from time to time review —

(a)

Codes of Practice relating to standards of programmes and advertisements broadcast by licensees; and

(b)

Codes of Practice relating to broadcast standards required to be maintained by licensees.

(2)

Any provision in any Code of Practice that is inconsistent with any regulations is, to the extent of the inconsistency —

(a)

to have effect subject to the regulations; or

(b)

where appropriate, having regard to the regulations, to have no effect.

(3)

The Authority may in any licence exempt any licensee from any provision in a Code of Practice generally or for any time that the Authority may specify.
