General power to amend application before grant
(1)
Subject to subsections (2), (3) and (4), the applicant may, of the applicant’s own volition or otherwise, amend the application or the specification thereof.
(2)
The applicant is not entitled to amend the application or specification unless —
the applicant has made a request to do so to the Registrar —
in the prescribed manner; and
within the prescribed period; and
the request is accompanied by the prescribed documents.
(3)
The applicant may only amend the application or specification in accordance with the prescribed conditions and subject to section 84.
(4)
If the applicant fails to comply with any requirement under subsection (2) or (3), the Registrar must —
refuse the applicant’s request to amend the application or specification; and
inform the applicant of the refusal.
