Section 105

Cancellation of certificate or exemption certificate

(1)

The Director may cancel any certificate or exemption certificate issued by him or her in respect of any ship if he or she has reason to believe that the ship or its equipment or any matter to which the certificate or exemption certificate relates no longer complies with the regulations under which the certificate was issued or the conditions (if any) under which the exemption certificate was issued.

(2)

Where a certificate or exemption certificate is cancelled by the Director under subsection (1), the owner or the master of the ship to which the certificate or exemption certificate relates must deliver the certificate within 14 days upon being notified by the Director, and if the owner or the master without reasonable cause, fails to do so, the owner or the master shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000.
