Section 18

Act not to affect insurance policies

(1)

The making of a directive does not affect the sale, procurement or issuance of a policy of insurance or any of its terms.

(2)

Except in the circumstances provided in section 14(2), a policy of insurance is not avoided, invalidated or otherwise affected by the withholding or withdrawal of extraordinary life‑sustaining treatment from an insured person in accordance with this Act.
