Section 50

Penalty for disobedience of direction

(1)

Any person who, without lawful excuse, refuses, neglects or fails to obey any direction lawfully given under this Part or any regulations made under this Part shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine not exceeding $500 for every day or part of a day during which the person wilfully continues to disobey the direction.

In case of any refusal or neglect or failure to comply with any direction given under this Part or any regulations made under this Part, the Authority may, whether any proceedings have been instituted against any person for such offence or not, do or cause to be done all such acts as are in its opinion reasonable or necessary for the purpose of carrying out or complying with the direction, and may hire and employ any person that it considers proper and necessary for such purpose.

All expenses incurred in doing such acts must be paid and borne by the person or persons so offending.
