Power of Minister to appoint inspectors
(1)
Despite anything in this Act, the Minister may, if he or she thinks it in the public interest to do so, appoint any person as an inspector to investigate any matter concerning dealing in capital markets products, administering a designated benchmark or providing information in relation to a designated benchmark.
(2)
An inspector appointed under subsection (1) has all the powers conferred upon an inspector under Part 9 of the Companies Act 1967 and that Part applies, with the necessary modifications, to such investigation.
(3)
Any inspector appointed under subsection (1) must report the results of the inspector’s investigation to the Minister and the Minister may, if he or she thinks it in the public interest to do so, cause the report to be printed and published.
