Section 70

Place at which register is kept

(1)

The trustee‑manager of a registered business trust must keep the register mentioned in section 69 at its registered office, but —

(a)

if the work of making up the register is done at another office of the trustee‑manager in Singapore, the register may be kept at that other office; or

(b)

if the trustee‑manager arranges with some other person to make up the register on its behalf, the register may be kept at the office of that other person at which the work is done if that office is in Singapore.

(2)

The trustee‑manager of a registered business trust must, within 14 days after the register is first kept at a place other than the registered office, lodge with the Authority notice of the place where the register is kept and must, within 14 days after any change in the place at which the register is kept, lodge with the Authority notice of the change.

(3)

Any trustee‑manager of a registered business trust which contravenes subsection (1) or (2) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $25,000 and, in the case of a continuing offence, to a further fine not exceeding $2,500 for every day or part of a day during which the offence continues after conviction.
