Improper use or possession of Singapore passports, etc.
(1)
If —
a person uses a Singapore passport or a Singapore travel document in connection with travel or identification;
the Singapore passport or Singapore travel document has been cancelled; and
the person knows or ought reasonably to have known that the Singapore passport or Singapore travel document has been cancelled,the person shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years or to both.
(2)
If —
a person uses a Singapore passport or a Singapore travel document in connection with travel or identification;
the Singapore passport or Singapore travel document was not issued to that person; and
the person knows or ought reasonably to have known that the Singapore passport or Singapore travel document was not issued to him or her,the person shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years or to both.
(3)
If —
a person (A) provides another person (B) with a Singapore passport or a Singapore travel document that was issued to A; and
A is reckless as to whether the document is or will be used by B in connection with travel or identification,A shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 years or to both.
(4)
If —
a person has or retains possession or control of a Singapore passport or a Singapore travel document; and
the person knows that the Singapore passport or Singapore travel document was not issued to him or her,the person shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $10,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years or to both.
(5)
Subsections (1), (2), (3) and (4) do not apply if the person has a reasonable excuse.
