Police officer may require evidence of identity
(1)
A police officer who reasonably believes that a person has committed an offence under this Act may require the person to provide such evidence of that person’s identity as the police officer may require.
(2)
Any person who —
refuses to provide the information required of the person by a police officer under subsection (1); or
provides information to a police officer in connection with any requirement under subsection (1), being information that is false or misleading in a material particular, and knowing that it is false or misleading in a material particular or is reckless as to whether it is,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $2,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 6 months or to both.
