Section 29
Composition of offences
(1)
The Commissioner may compound —
an offence under section 11(4) by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $2,500;
an offence under section 13(4) or 20(1) by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $500;
an offence under section 20(2) by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding half the amount of duty underpaid or $2,500, whichever is the lower;
an offence under section 20(3) by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding 2 times the amount of duty underpaid or $5,000, whichever is the lower; or
an offence under any regulations made under section 32(2) by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed an offence under the said regulations a sum not exceeding $500.
(2)
The Permit Officer may compound —
an offence under section 21(2) or (5) in respect of the abetment of the commission of an offence referred to in section 21(2), by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed the offence a sum not exceeding $2,500; or
an offence under any regulations made under section 32(1) by collecting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed an offence under the said regulations a sum not exceeding $2,500.

On payment of the sum of money, no further proceedings are to be taken against that person in respect of that offence.
