Section 9
When registration must be refused
Despite any provision in this Act or any other written law, but subject to a right of appeal under section 8(7) (if any), the Registrar must refuse to register a person and the person’s business name under this Act where the Registrar is satisfied that —
(a)
the business is likely to be used for an unlawful purpose or for purposes prejudicial to public peace, welfare or good order in Singapore;
(b)
it would be contrary to the national security or interest for the person to be registered; or
(c)
the person is a foreign company that is not registered under Division 2 of Part 11 of the Companies Act 1967.
