Defence of reasonable belief of individual’s age
Where an individual (called the accused) is charged with an offence under section 12(1) or 13(1) of doing anything in relation to an individual who is a young person, it is a defence for the accused to prove that —
(a)
the accused took all reasonable steps to determine the individual’s age; and
(b)
the accused reasonably believed that the individual was not a young person.
