Notification of appointment of receiver or manager
(1)
If any person obtains an order for the appointment of a receiver or manager of the property of a company, or of the property in Singapore of a corporation, or appoints such a receiver or manager under any powers contained in any instrument, that person must within 7 days after obtaining the order or making the appointment, lodge notice of that fact with the Official Receiver and the Registrar of Companies.
(2)
Where any person appointed as receiver or manager of the property of a company, or of the property in Singapore of a corporation, under the powers contained in any instrument ceases to act as such, that person must within 7 days after the cessation lodge with the Official Receiver and the Registrar of Companies notice to that effect.
(3)
Any person who defaults in complying with the requirements in subsection (1) or (2) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 and also to a default penalty.
