Amendment of section 3
Section 3 of the Audit Act, 1966, is hereby amended by deleting subsection (1) thereof and substituting therefor the following subsections: —“(1) There shall be an Auditor-General who shall be appointed by the President in accordance with the advice of the Prime Minister after the Prime Minister has consulted with the Chairman of the Public Service Commission.(1A) The Auditor-General shall be deemed to be a public officer and save as otherwise provided in this Act, the law for the time being in force relating to the public service of Singapore and to members thereof shall apply to him.”.
Miscellaneous amendments
The Audit Act, 1966, is hereby amended —
by deleting the words “Director of Audit” wherever they appear therein and substituting therefor in each case the word “Auditor-General”; and
by inserting immediately after section 11 thereof the following new section: —“Director of Audit to read as Auditor-General in written law
12. All references in any written law to the Director of Audit shall be read as references to the Auditor-General.”.
