Clause 43

Restriction on persons taking hold of motor vehicle in motion

(1)

If any person, otherwise than with lawful authority or reasonable cause, takes or retains hold of or gets on to a motor vehicle or trailer while it is in motion on any road for the purpose of his being drawn or carried, he shall be guilty of an offence under this Ordinance.

(2)

If while a motor vehicle is on a road or on a parking place where the public may park motor vehicles, any person otherwise than with lawful authority or with reasonable cause gets on to or moves or tampers with the vehicle, he shall be guilty of an offence under this Ordinance.

(3)

If any person loiters in or near a road or parking place where the public may park motor vehicles for the purpose of importuning or importunes any other person in respect of the watching or cleaning of any motor vehicle during the absence of its driver, the person so loitering or importuning shall be guilty of an offence under this Ordinance.

Any police officer may arrest without warrant any person found doing any act referred to in this section. [41]
