Clause 57

Prohibition of building on insanitary ground

(1)

No new building shall be erected on any ground which has been filled up with any matter impregnated with faecal, animal or vegetable matter or upon which any such matter has been deposited, unless and until such matter has been properly removed by excavation or otherwise or has been rendered or become innocuous.

(2)

Any person who does, causes or wilfully permits any act in contravention of this section shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars and to a further fine not exceeding twenty dollars for every day during which the offence is continued.
