Clause 141

District Officer may enter premises

The District Officer may, for the purposes of this Ordinance, enter at all reasonable hours in the daytime into and upon any building or land for the purpose of making any survey or inspection without being liable to any legal proceedings or molestation whatsoever on account of such entry in pursuance of this Ordinance:Provided that the District Officer shall not enter into any dwelling-house in actual occupation, unless with the consent of the occupier thereof, without six hours’ previous notice to such occupier:Provided also that in the case of any class of premises for the control and supervision of which regulations may be made under this Ordinance and which has been declared by the Minister pursuant to subsection (2) of section 150 of this Ordinance as being liable to night inspection, the District Officer may, at any time of the day or night without notice and using such force as may be necessary, enter into and search or inspect any such premises within the district.
