Detention of any dog that has bitten a person
(1)
A veterinary authority or a police officer not below the rank of Inspector may give directions requiring the owner or person in charge of any dog that has or is reasonably believed to have bitten any person to produce the dog at such place and time as he may determine. If the owner or person in charge of such dog fails to comply with such directions, the veterinary authority or police officer may forthwith take possession of the dog and remove it to an animal quarantine station.

Any person who fails without lawful excuse to comply with the directions given under the provisions of subsection (1) of this section shall be guilty of an offence under this Ordinance and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding two hundred dollars.
