Forfeiture
(1)
Whenever any person shall have been convicted of an offence against this Ordinance, the Court may, in addition to or in lieu of imposing any other punishment, order that any animal, bird, carcase or article in respect of which such offence has been committed shall be forfeited.
(2)
When any animal, bird, carcase or article has been seized under the provisions of section 52 of this Ordinance, but the person who is alleged to have committed the offence is unknown or cannot be found the Magistrate may, if it is proved to his satisfaction that an offence has been committed in respect of such animal, bird, carcase or article, order that such animal, bird, carcase or article be forfeited:Provided that no order shall be made under this subsection unless the owner, if his name and place of residence be known, shall have had an opportunity of appearing to show cause why such order should not be made.
(3)
Any animal, bird, carcase or article forfeited under the provisions of this section or under subsection (3) of section 52 of this Ordinance shall be disposed of in accordance with an order of the Magistrate.
