Clause 134

Permission to leave Singapore

(1)

Any man, who is not a citizen of Singapore or of Malaysia and who has married in Singapore, shall not leave Singapore without the permission of the President of the Majlis and the President of the Majlis may withhold such permission until he is satisfied that such person has made proper provision for the maintenance of his wife and children, if any.

(2)

Any person who fails to comply with subsection (1) of this section shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to both such fine and imprisonment.
