Service of summons
(1)
Every summons to appear issued by the Court shall be served by an officer of the Court or by any other person expressly authorized by the Court to serve the same, and may be served personally at any place within Singapore.
(2)
Service shall be personal, unless for special reasons the Court shall order substituted service. Substituted service shall be effected in such manner as the Court may order and shall then be as effective as personal service.
(3)
Personal service shall be effected by handing to the person to be served the original or a sealed and signed copy of the summons to be served. If the person to be served refuses to accept the summons it may be brought to his notice and left near him.
(4)
A person who has served any summons shall forthwith file in Court a memorandum showing the place, time and method of service.
(5)
Service shall be proved where necessary by oral evidence.
