Control over charges for admission
(1)
After the date of the coming into operation of this Act, no exhibitor of films and no proprietor of a cinema theatre or any other place where films are exhibited shall increase the charges for admission without the prior approval in writing of the Minister.
(2)
Any exhibitor of films or proprietor of a cinema theatre or any other place where films are exhibited, who acts in contravention of subsection (1), shall be guilty of an offence under this Act and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars in respect of every day on which such offence is committed.
(3)
Any person who is convicted of an offence under subsection (2) may be deprived by the Minister of the right to exhibit films in Singapore and, if he is a registered renter, may have his registration cancelled.
