Clause 16

Penalty for inciting, etc., a person to become a member of unlawful society

(1)

Any person who incites, induces or invites another person to become a member of, or to assist in the management of, an unlawful society shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding three thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or to both such fine and imprisonment.

(2)

Any person who uses any violence, threat or intimidation towards any person in order to induce him to become a member of, or to assist in the management of, an unlawful society shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding four thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding four years or to both such fine and imprisonment.
