Clause 34

Regulations

(1)

The Minister may from time to time make regulations for or in respect of all or any of the following matters: —

(a)

to prescribe the manner of registration of societies under this Act;

(b)

to regulate or restrict changes of the name of registered societies;

(c)

to regulate or restrict changes of the place of business or place of meeting or of the registered rules or objects of registered societies;

(d)

to prescribe the manner and conditions in and under which the powers conferred by this Act shall be exercised by the persons on whom such powers are conferred;

(e)

to prescribe the fees which may be charged and taken under this Act;

(f)

to prescribe the forms which may be used for carrying out the provisions of this Act;

(g)

generally for carrying into effect the provisions of this Act.

(2)

The Minister in making any regulations under this Act may direct that a person committing a breach of such regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred dollars and, where the breach is a continuing one, to a fine not exceeding fifty dollars for every day after the first day during which the breach continues.

(3)

All such regulations shall be published in the Gazette and shall be presented to Parliament as soon as may be after publication.
