Compounding of offences
(1)
The Commissioner or any public officer authorised in writing in that behalf by the Minister may compound any offence under sections 6, 7, 8, 10 and 13 of this Act or under any regulations made under this Act as may be specified in such regulations as being an offence which may be compounded by accepting from a person reasonably suspected of having committed such offence a sum of money not exceeding five hundred dollars.
(2)
On payment of such sum of money, no further proceedings shall be taken against such person in respect of such offence.
