New section 15A
The Ordinance is hereby amended by inserting, immediately after section 15 thereof, the following new section: —“Renewal of driving licences15A.—
(1)
Subject to subsection (2) of this section and to any rules made under section 46 of this Ordinance, the Registrar, or any person authorised by him, may, on application in the prescribed form and upon payment of the prescribed fee, renew a driving licence for a period of either one year or three years with effect from the date of its expiry, as the applicant may elect at the time of making application for such renewal.(2) The Registrar shall not renew a driving licence which has ceased to be effective for a continuous period of more than three years.”.
