Clause 3

Subsection (1) of section 16 of the Economic Development Board Ordinance, 1961, is hereby amended by inserting immediately after paragraph (o) thereof the following new paragraphs: —“(oa)to establish, publish and promote the use of industrial standards in Singapore covering inter alia specifications of quality, safety, performance and dimensions; methods of testing and analysis; procedures for sampling and inspection; and codes of practice with a view to improving quality, industrial efficiency and productivity and promoting trade;

(ob)to specify standard certification marks to represent the particular Singapore industrial standards and to issue and control licences for their use;”.
