Clause 3

Amendment of section 43

Section 43 of the Local Government Integration Ordinance, 1963, is hereby amended —

(a)

by deleting subsection (1) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(1) The Director may at any time apply any system of sewage and trade effluent removal to such houses, lands, buildings and tenements as he thinks fit.”;

(b)

by inserting immediately after subsection (1) thereof the following new subsection: —“(2) The Director may charge such fees as may be prescribed —

(a)

in respect of sanitary fittings or other fittings which discharge waste into the sewerage system; and

(b)

in respect of the amount of water used in such houses, lands, buildings and tenements.”; and

(c)

by renumbering the existing subsection (2) thereof as subsection (3).
