Repeal and re-enactment of section 5

Section 5 of the Ordinance is hereby repealed and the following substituted therefor: —“Exemption of naval vessels5.—

(1)

Except in Part VIII or where the contrary intention appears, this Ordinance shall not apply to or in relation to a vessel belonging to the naval, military or air forces of Singapore or of any other country, including a foreign country.(2) This Ordinance shall, with the exception of Part III and except where special provision is made by rules made by the Minister, apply to all ships belonging to or in the employment of the Government, and in such application the word “Director” shall be read for “owner”.”.
