Amendment of section 9
Section 9 of the Singapore Society of Accountants Ordinance, 1963 (hereinafter in this Act referred to as “the Ordinance”) is hereby amended —
by deleting the word “four” appearing in paragraphs (c) and (d) of subsection (1) thereof and substituting therefor in each case the word “eight”;
by deleting paragraph (e) of subsection (1) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(e)a representative of the University of Singapore established by the University of Singapore Ordinance, 1961 (Ord. 30 of 1961), to be appointed by the Minister on the nomination of the Council of the University of Singapore.”; and
by inserting immediately after subsection (4) thereof the following new subsection: —“(5) If for any reason the Accountant-General is unable to attend any meeting of the Council, he may nominate a representative to attend the meeting and such representative shall, when so attending, be deemed for all purposes to be a member of the Council.”.
