Constitution of Committee
(1)
The Committee shall consist of —
a Chairman;
four persons representing shipowners;
four persons representing seafarers; and
three other members,all of whom shall be appointed by the Minister for a period not exceeding two years.
(2)
Every member of the Committee including the Chairman shall retire on the expiration of the period for which he was appointed but shall be eligible for re-appointment.
(3)
On a vacancy occurring in the Committee by reason of death, inability to act, resignation, absence from Singapore for more than six months or the revocation of an appointment, such vacancy shall be filled by appointment by the Minister and any person so appointed shall hold office only for so long as the member in whose place he is appointed would have held office had he not ceased to be a member of the Committee.
