Transitional
(1)
Upon the date of the coming into operation of this Act —
the unincorporated body known as the National Productivity Centre being a unit of the Economic Development Board and operating under its control (hereinafter in this section referred to as the “unincorporated body”) shall cease to exist;
the Board shall take over all the powers, duties and functions of the unincorporated body;
all the assets and property of every description and all the powers, rights and privileges in connection therewith or appertaining thereto which immediately before the date of the coming into operation of this Act belonged to or were vested in the unincorporated body shall forthwith vest in the Board; and
all the liabilities and obligations of the unincorporated body existing immediately before the date of the coming into operation of this Act shall be transferred to and vest in the Board.

Every person employed by the Economic Development Board and working in the unincorporated body shall be transferred to the service of the Board on the same terms as those he had enjoyed immediately prior to the date of the coming into operation of this Act or on such other terms which shall be determined by the Board provided however that such terms as may be offered shall not be any less favourable than those enjoyed by that person as an officer of the Economic Development Board.
(3)
Until other provisions are made, the Economic Development Board Provident Fund Rules, 1968, shall continue to apply to the Board and to every person mentioned in subsection (2) of this section in like manner as the said Rules apply to the Economic Development Board and to persons in the employment of the Economic Development Board and working in the unincorporated body immediately prior to the date of the coming into operation of this Act and every reference to the Economic Development Board or its employees or to service or employment with the Economic Development Board in the said Rules shall be construed respectively as a reference to the Board or to persons mentioned in subsection (2) of this section or to service or employment with the Board in respect of such persons.
