Clause 9
Jurisdiction of Courts
Notwithstanding anything contained in any other written law to the contrary, a District Court or a Magistrate’s Court shall have jurisdiction to hear and determine any prosecution for an offence and may impose the maximum penalty prescribed for the offence.
