Amendment of section 21
Section 21 of the Enlistment Act is hereby amended by deleting subsection (1) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(1) Every employer, who has had in his employment a person for a continuous period of at least six months immediately preceding the day on which that person —
was ordered to report for or actually perform full-time, reserve or mobilized service; or
was ordered to report for mobilized service pursuant to section 64 of the Police Force Act (Cap. 78),shall reinstate that person in his employment at the termination of such service except where that person has been required to perform further reserve service pursuant to subsection (14) of section 114 of the Singapore Armed Forces Act, 1972 (Act 7 of 1972), in which event an employer may in his discretion reinstate that person.”.
