Clause 17

Every officer appointed under subsection (1) or (2) of section 3 who seeks to exercise any of the powers conferred upon him by this Act shall, if not in uniform, on demand declare his office and produce such identification card as may be issued to him by the Commissioner.

It shall not be an offence for any person to refuse to comply with any request, demand or order made by any such officer acting or purporting to act under this Act if the officer is not in uniform and refuses to declare his office and produce his identification card, on demand being made therefor by such person.
