Clause 24
Obstruction of officers
(1)
Any person who —
wilfully obstructs the Director or an officer acting in pursuance of this Act; or
wilfully fails to comply with any requirement properly made to him by the Director or such an officer under section 23; or
without reasonable cause fails to give the Director or such an officer any other assistance or information which he may reasonably require for the purpose of the performance of his functions under this Act,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
(2)
If any person, in giving any such information as is mentioned in subsection (1), makes any statement which he knows to be false, he shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or to both.
