Clause 27
No building etc., to be erected over, across or adjacent to any sewer
(1)
No person shall erect or cause or permit to be erected any house, structure or building over, across or adjacent to any sewer without the permission of the Director.
(2)
If any person erects or causes or permits to be erected any house, structure or building over, across or adjacent to any sewer without the permission of the Director, the Director may by notice in writing require that person to demolish or remove the same within a reasonable time fixed by him.
(3)
If any person fails to comply with any requirement of a notice issued under subsection (2) the Director may, at the expiration of a time specified in the notice which shall not be less than fourteen days after the service of the notice, do the work required by the notice and may recover from such person the expenses reasonably incurred in so doing.
(4)
Any person who contravenes the provisions of subsection (1) or fails to comply with any requirement of a notice issued under subsection (2) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding five thousand dollars.
