Power to enter upon lands for the purposes of this Act
(1)
The Director and any person authorised in writing by the Director in that behalf may, for the purposes of this Act, enter at all reasonable hours in the daytime into and upon any building or land for the purpose of making any survey, soil investigation or inspection and executing any work authorised by this Act to be executed by the Director without being liable to any legal proceedings or molestation on account of such entry or of anything done in any part of that building or land in pursuance of this Act.
(2)
No person shall, pursuant to this section, enter into any dwelling-house in actual occupation, unless with the consent of the occupier thereof, without six hours’ previous notice to the occupier.
(3)
For the purposes of this section the Minister may declare that any class of premises is liable to night inspection, and thereupon any public officer, employee, agent or contractor duly authorised in writing in that behalf may, at any time of the day or night and without notice, enter using such force as may be necessary into and search or inspect any premises of the class specified in the declaration.
