Amendment of section 156

Section 156 of the Evidence Act is hereby amended —

(a)

by renumbering the section as subsection (1);

(b)

by deleting the illustration thereto; and

(c)

by inserting immediately after subsection (1) thereof the following new subsection: —“(2) Any rule of law or practice whereby in criminal proceedings the evidence of one witness is incapable of corroborating the evidence of another witness is hereby abrogated.”.
