Repeal and re-enactment of section 80
Section 80 of the Stamp Act is hereby repealed and the following substituted therefor: —“Composition or consolidation of duties80.—
(1)
The Minister may by order published in the Gazette provide for the composition or consolidation of duties in the case of any issue by a corporation or statutory body of share certificates, debentures, bonds or other marketable securities.(2) Any instrument issued by a corporation or statutory body in respect of which payment of duty by way of composition has been made under this section shall, notwithstanding the provision of section 7, be deemed to be duly stamped.”.
