Clause 53

The Director may, with the approval of the Minister, formulate and implement emergency measures for the control of an infectious disease in any area; such measures shall be published in the Gazette before implementation.

Any person who wilfully neglects or refuses to carry out or obstructs the execution of any measures formulated and implemented under subsection (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding two thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one month or to both such fine and imprisonment.
