Clause 7

by inserting immediately after the word “section” appearing in the third line of subsection (1) thereof the expression “and of subsection (1) of section 108 of this Act”;

by deleting paragraph (e) of subsection (1) thereof and substituting therefor the following paragraphs: —“(e)special detention for a term not exceeding three months in a disciplinary barrack;

detention for a term not exceeding two years;”;

by re-lettering the existing paragraphs (f), (g), (h), (i), (j) and (k) of subsection (1) thereof as paragraphs (g), (h), (i), (j), (k) and (l) respectively;

by deleting the words “except that detention shall not be deemed to be a less punishment than imprisonment if the term of detention is longer than the term of imprisonment” appearing in the fifth, sixth and seventh lines of subsection (2) thereof; and

by deleting the word “The” appearing in the first line of subsection (5) thereof and substituting therefor the expression “Subject to the provisions of subsection (1) of section 108 of this Act, the”.
