Clause 5

by deleting subsection (1) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(1) Every dangerous part of any machinery, other than prime movers and transmission machinery, shall be securely fenced unless it is in such a position or of such construction as to be safe to every person employed or working on the premises as it would be if securely fenced.”;

by inserting immediately after subsection (1) thereof the following new subsection: —“(2) Subsection (1) of this section shall not apply where the dangerous part of any machinery is made safe for persons employed or working on the premises by other equally effective means.”; and

by renumbering the existing subsection (2) thereof as subsection (3).
