Clause 22

Repeal and transitional provisions

(1)

The Pharmacists Registration Act (Cap. 223) (hereinafter referred to as the repealed Act) is hereby repealed.

(2)

Notwithstanding the provisions of subsection (1) —

(a)

every person registered under the repealed Act shall be deemed to be registered under this Act;

(b)

the register of pharmacists kept in pursuance of the repealed Act shall be deemed to be part of the register to be kept in pursuance of section 5;

(c)

every certificate issued under the repealed Act which certifies that the person specified therein is registered as a pharmacist according to the provisions of the repealed Act shall be deemed to be an annual certificate issued in pursuance of section 12 certifying that such person is a registered pharmacist, and the certificate shall, unless it ceases to be valid under the provisions of this Act, have effect until the date of its expiry; and

(d)

any order made and other thing done under the provisions of the repealed Act and in force immediately before the commencement of this Act shall be deemed to have been made or done under the corresponding provisions of this Act and shall continue to have effect accordingly.
