Amendment of section 60

Subsection (1) of section 60 of the Women’s Charter is amended —

(a)

by deleting the full-stop at the end thereof and substituting therefor a colon; and

(b)

by inserting immediately thereafter the following proviso: —“Provided that in any application for maintenance by his wife it shall be a defence for the husband if he can prove that she has committed adultery or that she has deserted him.”.
