Clause 24

Amendment of section 154

Section 154 of the Women’s Charter is amended by deleting subsection (3) thereof and substituting therefor the following: —“(3) Any person who —

(a)

induces or assists any woman or girl so detained as aforesaid to leave or escape from the place in which she is detained; or

(b)

receives or harbours such woman or girl knowing or having reason to believe that she has escaped from a place of safety,shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or to a fine not exceeding one thousand dollars or to both such imprisonment and fine.”.
