Clause 9

General Manager of Broadcasting

(1)

The Corporation shall, with the approval of the Minister, appoint a General Manager of Broadcasting on such terms and conditions as the Corporation may determine.

(2)

The General Manager shall —

(a)

be the chief executive officer of the Corporation;

(b)

be responsible to the Corporation for the proper administration and management of the Corporation in accordance with the policy laid down by the members thereof; and

(c)

not be removed from office without the consent of the Minister.

(3)

If the General Manager is temporarily absent from Singapore, or temporarily incapacitated by reason of illness, or for other cause temporarily unable to perform his duties, any person may be appointed by the Corporation to act in the place of the General Manager during any such period of absence from duty.
