Constitution of the Board
(1)
The Board shall consist of the following members: —
a Chairman;
a Deputy Chairman;
the Director;
three persons representing the Government;
three persons appearing to the Minister to be representative of employers engaged in commerce and industry;
three persons representing the National Trades Union Congress; and
such other persons as the Minister may consider necessary.
(2)
The members other than the Director shall be appointed by the Minister and shall, unless the Minister otherwise directs, hold office for a period of three years from the date of their respective appointments and shall be eligible for re-appointment.
(3)
The Minister may appoint a person to be a temporary member during the absence from Singapore, or incapacity owing to illness or otherwise, of a member.
(4)
The Minister may, at any time, revoke the appointment of a member without assigning any reason therefor.
(5)
A member may resign from his appointment at any time by giving written notice to the Minister.
