Repeal and re-enactment of Article 90

Article 90 of the Constitution of Singapore is repealed and the following substituted therefor: —“Amendment of Constitution90.—

(1)

Subject to the following provisions of this Article, the provisions of this Constitution may be amended by a law enacted by the Legislature.(2) Except as provided in clause (3) of this Article, a Bill seeking to amend any provision in this Constitution shall not be passed by Parliament unless it has been supported on Second and Third Readings by the votes of not less than two-thirds of the total number of the Members thereof.(3) Any amendment consequential on such a law as is mentioned in clause (1) of Article 23 of this Constitution shall be excepted from the provisions of clause (2) of this Article.(4) In this Article, “amendment” includes addition and repeal.”.
