Clause 2

Amendment of section 2

Section 2 of the Betting and Sweepstake Duties Act is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “ten” in subsection (1) and substituting the word “fifteen”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after subsection (2), the following subsection: —“(3) The Minister may, from time to time, by order reduce or increase either or both of the rates of the duty specified in this section.”.
